UX Designer III (IC-3) (Remote) Description: In this role, we will ask you to take the lead for new opportunities to simplify and drive solutions that advance our patients experience of genetic testing for family planning and potential cancer risks. You will collaboratively design new digital products affecting thousands of patients and healthcare providers. You will assist in defining our product strategies and conduct user research to aid in uncovering key goals and insights to solve complex problems. In this position, your design work will aid patients in navigating some of the most critical healthcare moments in their lives. At Myriad Genetics, we build software solutions that span the entire genetic testing process for patients and doctors. Our solutions include identifying at-risk patients, estimating personalized costs, getting patients genetic tests done, tracking test progress and providing access to our high-touch counseling services once the test results are in. For patients, we create a unique consumer-quality experience that supports them at every step of their genetic testing journey. For doctors, we surround our tests with online tools that improve their efficiency and let them focus on what they do best: providing excellent care. • Understand the user: You will have a driving passion for understanding your users and will be relentless in finding solutions that meet their needs.
• Lead and apply research: You will have the insight and experience to apply research methodologies tailored for each project and translate those findings for your projects.
• Champion design thinking: You will partner with teams in solving users problems through design thinking and will contribute to Myriad Genetics overall product design vision and the evolution of our methodology and standards.
• Own your work: You will take full ownership of your work, serving as a designer on large cross-functional teams. You will balance the design needs in a number of concurrent projects and will independently manage design deliverables and schedules across those goals.
• Partner with teammates: You will partner closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to develop elegant and practical solutions. Together, you will create products that users will love. You will help foster a culture of open and honest feedback and will support teammates in doing their best work. About you: Experience
  • 5+ years of experience as a user experience (UX) designer, interaction designer, or similar role Work samples
    • Must have an online portfolio or PDF showcasing process, examples, case studies, and what you have worked on specifically Other requirements
      • A passion for healthcare
        • Experience in UX design in healthcare (preferred)
        • Experience in a collaborative environment of Product Managers, Software Developers, Project Managers, fellow Designers, and Marketers
        • Excellent communication skills
        • Bachelors or Masters Degree, equavalent experience and education considered.
        • Up to 10% travel potentially as directed by user research
