Floor Tech -
-
SUMMARY: - The primary purpose of the Floor Tech is to provide and
maintain the floor care of the facility, including resident rooms.
Perform stripping, waxing, buffing and overall care under the
supervision of the Housekeeping or designated supervisor.
Maintaining the environment of the facility to create a positive
physical and psychosocial environment for the residents.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - -
Stirp, wax and buff floors as directed; move and replace furniture;
clean storage and exterior areas as directed. -
Clean, straighten, mop and polish rooms, offices, as well as common
areas as directed. -
Ensure resident rooms are safe, comfortable, and maintained in an
attractive manner while residents' personal items are safeguarded.

Clean up spills, soiled areas, and other conditions as observed or
directed. -
Ensure cleaning, stripping and waxing schedules are followed and
coordinated with housekeeping and other departments to minimize
disruption of daily living for the residents. -
Ensure equipment, supply carts, and adequate supplies are properly
maintained. -
Ensure lighting is in proper working order. -
Assist others with heavy lifting as directed. -
Ensure equipment and work areas are safe; procedures regarding
cleaners or hazardous materials. Objects are strictly adhered to,
as well as, equipment and supplies are properly stored. -
Ensure universal precautions and infection control, isolation,
fire, safety, and sanitation practices and procedures are followed,
as well as promptly report any hazardous conditions and equipment.

Attend orientation and in-services as required by state. -
Understand, comply with, and promote all rules regarding residents'
rights. -
Promote positive relationships with residents, visitors, and
regulators to include a professional appearance and attitude. -
Support and follow all safety and infection control practices.

Adhere to facility uniform policy, including, use of personal
protective equipment. -
Exhibit expected ethical and legal standards including matters
related to resident abuse or neglect, by personally complying with
laws, regulations, and Lake View Care Center's code of Business
Conduct and ethics policy. -
Respond promptly and thoroughly when problems are reported. -
Assist in planning, implementing, and monitoring corrective action
when problems including ethics and compliance, as well as resident
abuse and neglect are identified to the Director of Nursing or
Administrator
Maintain compliance in promoting patient privacy, HIPPA
regulations, and confidentiality in the delivery of care. -
Safeguard patients medical, financial and personal information.

Attend and participate in educational activities, in-service
training and staff meetings.
Participate in quality improvement activities as assigned. -
Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS: - To perform this job successfully, an individual
must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The
requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill,
and/or ability required. -
High school diploma, general education degree or equivalent. -
Must be able to relate professionally and positively to facility
staff and work cooperatively with other associates at all levels.

Ability to communicate effectively in English through verbal and
written means.
Ability to work under stress and in emergency situations. -

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands are representative of those
that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the

Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday. -
Must be able to speak and write English language in an

Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will
enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements
are fully met. -
Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies
of this facility, which include medical, physical examination,
chest X-ray or PPD, and drug test.
Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity,
and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and
support agencies. -
Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50
pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull,
move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 100 feet
May be necessary to assist in evacuation of residents during
emergency situations. -
