Approximately 1/4th of Northrop Grumman's 90,000 employees self-identify as veterans, and more than 1,600 are reservists.The Northrop Grumman Military Internship Program (NG-MIP) is an approved SkillBridge Program under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. The NG-MIP program is an opportunity for transitioning service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through an individual internship during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. The NG-MIP is open to all ranks and experience levels. SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Northrop Grumman, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members.Responsibilities for this internship position are:While participating in the NG-MIP, the service member will be on-site at his or her host company performing an individual internship in an entry to mid-level career type role. The service member will be on the job training supporting a work schedule equivalent to 40hrs per week. Outlined below are the Goals, Objectives, and Outcomes for the program.Goals - Provide transitioning service members fellowship-style job skills training during the last portion(s) of their military commitment. This program is specifically designed to offer internships that result in the potential to transition to a full-time opportunity as the conclusion of the training. Interns will serve as a pipeline for high-speed, motivated military candidates into NGC.Objectives - Service Members who complete the Intern program will be highly-trained, capable, future employees that align to the specific needs of the organization and are prepared to meet the NG mission "Defining Possible" on Day 1. This position will be located in Clearfield UT where technology and teamwork come together. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Manufacturing Engineering Team working in a collaborative environment while promoting a positive and proactive teamwork environment.Manufacturing Engineering job duties involve the following: provide guidance to Engineering regarding design concepts to ensure the best manufacturing technique is being used to meet the Engineering design, participate in tool design reviews to ensure tools are feasible and reduce build times and program costs during assembly, define sequence of operations for product builds, investigate and initiate corrective actions and improvements that involve non-conforming product and identify improvement opportunities in areas that require producibility and affordability initiatives. Provide liaison support for Engineering definition to influence low production costs for integrated assembly related to electrical, hydraulics, fuels, fluids and propulsion systemsManufacturing Engineers for Aeronautics Systems are expected to provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex and difficult problems. We seek Manufacturing Engineers that use a unique skill set that includes a hands-on approach and act as the technical representative voice for the Manufacturing organization.Basic Qualifications (Associate Manufacturing Engineer):Bachelor's with 0 years experience in production assembly/fabrication including composites, metallic, coatings application, and/or production Active in-scope DOD Secret security clearance that has been granted / renewed within the past 5 years as well as to obtain Special Access Program within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needsExperience with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to interface with multiple levels of leadership, clients, and vendorsAbility to work 1st shift "5am-3:30pm"Basic Qualifications (Manufacturing Engineer):Bachelor's with 2 years experience OR Master's with 0 years experience in production assembly/fabrication including composites, metallic, coatings application, and/or production Active in-scope DOD Secret security clearance that has been granted / renewed within the past 5 years as well as to obtain Special Access Program within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needsExperience with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to interface with multiple levels of leadership, clients, and vendorsAbility to work 1st shift "5am-3:30pm"Preferred Qualifications:STEM Degree (Science, Technical, Engineering, or Mathematics)Experience working hands-on in a production assembly line environmentSalary Range: $55,100 USD - $82,700 USDSalary Range 2: $66,600 USD - $99,800 USDEmployees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
