Explore your future and launch your career today.Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Design & Integration Engineering Manager for the Onboard Test Equipment Development (OBTE) IPT within the Aerospace Vehicle Equipment (AVE) Segment. This position will be located in Roy, UT with occasional travel to other hub locations that will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.This role will work directly with the IPT and Deputy Leads to organize and execute the OBTE engineering scope of work on the Sentinel program. This will include providing programmatic and engineering leadership to the Mechanical, Electrical, Analysis and Integration teams. The OBTE Engineering Manager serves an integral role in cultivating our customer relationship, actively managing team requirements, and shaping and nurturing program and team culture. The manager will lead program management battle rhythm(s) across the OBTE IPT, including operations, and is able to execute to the OBTE statement of work. This position reports directly to the OBTE Director to align strategic priorities.What You'll Get To Do:Assist the IPT Lead/Deputy in actively managing IPT/Engineering prioritiesSuccessfully lead the Engineering team through the design development and flight-test programIntegrated program performance management (cost, schedule, EVMS, technical execution, risk & opportunity, quality) to deliver on contract commitmentsThe day-to-day operational, contractual, and programmatic change management across all aspects/phases of the Sentinel Program (EMD, Advanced Procurement, and Production) of the engineering team(s)Coordinate/interface across multiple IPTs to define, develop and integrate the OBTE systemIntegrate program demand planning (staffing, infrastructure, clearances, etc)Integrate program approach to sub-contract management to strengthen partnerships and drive performanceSupport to strategic planning and professional development/organization efficiency initiativesDrive technical performance with engineering oversight and insight to successfully develop the OBTE system, including development and delivery of data packages, including CDRL deliverablesHelp prepare for and execute OBTE CDR and oversee the development and execution of lower-level CDR/IDRs, including sub-contract IDRsLead the Mechanical, Electrical and Analysis teams to ensure data driven designs that satisfy program OBTE requirementsAbility to create and maintain trusted relationships with internal and external customersSuccess in leading and developing cross-functional teamsStrong organizational and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, with all levels of management and individual contributorsAs a full-time employee of Northrop Grumman Space Systems, you are eligible for our robust benefits package including:--- Medical, Dental & Vision coverage--- 401k--- Educational Assistance--- Life Insurance--- Employee Assistance Programs & Work/Life Solutions--- Paid Time Off--- Health & Wellness Resources--- Employee DiscountsThis position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.You'll Bring These Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of related technical experience, or a Masters Degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of experience.Active Top Secret US security clearance3+ years in a formal management/leadership role of team or department.3+ years of experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as either project lead, integrated program team or cost account manager.Experience leading engineering development of systems related to Onboard Test Equipment (Telemetry Systems, Instrumentation, Flight Termination Systems, Integration & Test, Range Safety Requirements (AF-MAN 91-710), Flight Testing)These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:Prior experience interfacing with prime contractor integrated product team (IPT) leads and USAF leadership personnelTechnical leadership experience, direction and mentoring to other technical employees in the application of scientific principles, tools and techniques to achieve practical end results.Knowledge of configuration management best practicesAbility to deal with ambiguity and meet program commitments in a highly concurrent engineering environmentAbility to effectively maneuver through political situation and anticipate roadblocksGood organizational skills and ability to work with minimal directionSalary Range: $152,100 USD - $228,100 USDEmployees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
