L3Harris is currently seeking a software engineer with a background and experience in embedded real-time software development. The qualified candidate will have exciting, challenging, and rewarding opportunities to support existing and develop next generation military communications applications. This important work contributes to the safety and effectiveness of US and allied nations' warfighters. An engineer in this position is responsible for leading projects, developing and managing schedules, generating bids/proposals, and participating in the entire software development lifecycle. The software engineers working in this field often work on a variety of cutting edge projects over their careers, as we design embedded systems for the ground, air, shipboard, and space-based communication systems.
The Senior Specialist Software Engineer is expected to:

• 
  
• Experience with hands-on C++ software development and troubleshooting on Embedded targets
  
• Experience in object-oriented software architecture and design
  
• Experience in embedded systems design(including use of an RTOS)
  
• Working knowledge of signal processing, control systems, and networking
  
  Preferred Qualifications:
  
  • 
    
  • Experience with drivers/hardware interfaces including PCIe, 1553, RS232, SPI, I2C, FPGAs, and other hardware
    
  • Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review techniques
    
  • Knowledge in programming languages, compilers, and application execution
    
  • Knowledge of protocols such as: IP, UDP, TCP, EtherCAT, CAN, RTPS/DDS
    
  • Knowledge of operating systems: Linux, Unix, VxWorks, Windows
    
  • Knowledge modeling software: Matlab, Simulink, MATRIXx, Sci-Lab, Octave
    
  • Knowledge of Scripting languages:Python, Bash, Perl
    
  • Experience with Agile development methodology
    
  • Knowledge of DevOps technologies such as virtualization, Docker, scripting, git, testing and automation
    
  • An understanding of Common Datalink Waveforms
    
    Basic Qualifications:
    Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
    Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
