Job Description:As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible
for performing diagnostic MRI exams on patients using specialized
equipment. You will work closely with radiologists, physicians, and
other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and high-quality
imaging results. The ideal candidate will have a strong
understanding of imaging techniques, excellent patient care skills,
and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Job Details
- Department Location: Park City Hospital
- Scheduled Weekly Hours: Up to 16 hours, may vary. Willing to
work weekends and cover shifts as needed
- 5% Geographical DifferentialEssential Functions
- Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and
prepares the patient for the exam.
- Performs MRI examinations per department protocol.
- Understands cross sectional anatomy and demonstrates anatomical
positioning competency.
- Critiques own films.
- Completes studies within acceptable time limitations without
compromising patient care or the quality of the examination.
- In coordination with the radiologist, selects proper scanning
techniques and protocols.
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of protocol relating
to contrast administration. As ordered by the physician and under
radiologist or physician supervision, administers intravenous
contrast material to patients.
- Practices appropriate infection control and sterile
techniques.
- Understands and operates all MRI equipment and related
information systems appropriately to ensure that quality images are
produced. Exhibits understanding and proficiency with electronic
imaging.
- Incumbent views, transfers, archives, and manipulates
images.
- Exhibits a working knowledge of the MRI scanner. Troubleshoots
when needed and understands the shutdown and start up
procedures.
- Exhibits a working knowledge of the magnet, cryogens, gradient
amplifiers, and all relevant computer hardware and software.
- Understands the Quench procedure and when it should be
performed.
- Adheres to and understands the MRI safety policy and the FOUR
ZONE concept.
- Understands proper MR magnet safety in the event of an
emergency.
- Thoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation
including timestamps and image storage.
- Follows appropriate protocol for medical necessity, coding, and
charging, obtaining consents if necessary, documenting any events
that may occur for quality, maintaining a current QC program for
ACR and reporting any equipment failures or problems.Skills

- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(MR) or
American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists
(ARMRIT) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(R)
cross-trained in MRI
- Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare
providers
- IV CertificationPreferred Qualifications -
- 1-2 years of MRI technologist experience -Physical
Requirements:Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels,
assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and
supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients,
and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well
as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and
issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency
situations.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and
delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes
frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care,
accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer
patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and
equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and
including heavy items.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients
and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This
includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including
heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms
(full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an

hourly rate dependent upon experience. -$37.46 - $57.80We care
