Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an Electrical Engineer /
Principal Electrical Engineer to join the System Test Team (STT).
This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Ground Based
Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Final position offered will be
based on candidate level of experience.
What You Will Get To Do:
The selected candidate for this role will be responsible for
supporting a team of highly qualified Electrical Engineers,
Mechanical Engineers, Computer Science engineers and systems
engineers designing the Launch Support System (LSS) ground system
for Sentinel flight test program. This role will report directly to
the LSS engineering manager under STT Ground Test.
The candidate will research, develop, design, and test electrical
components, equipment, systems, and networks in support of the LSS
system. They will define design and technology maturity constraints
of the system in accordance with customer specifications and range
certification requirements outlined in AFSPCMAN 91-710. The
candidate will develop thorough definition of system external
interfaces and defines system implementation approach and
operational concept while ensuring requirements are met and
evaluates performance with customer. This role will require travel
to Vandenberg Space Force Base, and Promontory, UT. The role will
require the willingness to work a flexible work schedule that may
include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call
status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days- a-week, and 365 days a year.
Key Responsibilities include:
---Responsible for the engineering process development, continuous
improvement, and affordability initiatives within the various
systems and systems assigned.
---Serves as the liaison to LSS Technical Lead Engineer, customers,
operations, and other functional groups.
---Manages risks, change requests and opportunities for all
engineering scope within the system discipline.
---Collaborates with all functional organizations to resolve
engineering conflicts with a multiple disciplined maintenance
community.
---Maintain System configuration control over SW/HW
versions/configurations (network/computing/applications, automated
environment creation.
---Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and
computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing,
such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways,
etc.
---Evaluate and reports on new communications technologies to
enhance capabilities of the network.
---Utilize sound engineering practices to develop, implement, and
maintain end-to-end ground systems.
---Product Deliveries include: ICDs, Emulator/Simulator baseline
control, test plans, network diagrams, integration/deployment work
instructions, production, and test system hardware (e.g.,
networks).

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule
allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday
to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive

Basic Qualifications:
---Engineer: Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science,
Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 2 years of
experience; 0 years with Master's Degree
Principal Engineer: Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science,
Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 5 years of
experience; 3 years with Master's Degree; 0 years with PhD
---Experience designing integrated ground-based computer systems
supporting programs during flight test
---US Citizen
---Current DoD Secret clearance granted or re-investigated within
last 6 years
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience leading a team of diverse team members on an integrated
ground-based computer system.
---Knowledge and experience using CAMEO and/or Model Based Systems
Engineering (MBSE) Principles.
---Experience using DOORS Requirements Management Database.
---Experience with Agile
---Previous ICBM experience.
---Experience developing and delivering system drawings.
---Knowledge and experience with AFSPCMAN 91-710 and range
certification safety requirements.
---Experience operating and troubleshooting information
systems.
---Experience designing, developing, building, testing and
maintaining network and computing infrastructure
---Experience identifying systems anomalies and troubleshooting
(network/custom applications/COTS software/server
infrastructure)
---Current or previously held, IAT Level 2 Security Certification
(Security +, CySA+, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP) or IAT DoD
level 3 (CASP, CCNP-Security, CISA, CISSP,GCED, GCIH).
---Knowledge of virtualization sustainment/maintenance.
---Project Management, risk and opportunities, and Change Request
Experience
---Current DoD Top Secret clearance granted or re-investigated
within last 6 years
Salary Range: $71,100 USD - $131,400 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to
base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman
provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage,
life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays
and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
