Job DescriptionSUMMARYThe Plant Manager will put together and
manage a team to efficiently and safely operate a new natural
pozzolan processing plant. The plant is designed to run 24 hours
per day and is designed to produce up to 300,000 tons of product
per year utilizing the latest fine powders processing technology.
This person will manage the production, distribution, warehousing,
and cost accounting information in accordance with company
policies, principles, and procedures.ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONSResponsibilities
- Hiring and developing production team.
- Plan, organize, and run day-to-day operations.
- Develop systems and processes that track and optimize
productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to
ensure effective return on assets.
- Develops and implement plans for efficient use of materials,
machines, and employees.
- Reviews production costs and product quality, and modifies
production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance
profitable operation.
- Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives
and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
- Directs and assigns work to production employees.
- Ensure employees have the training and skills required to
perform tasks.
- Manages employee performance to maximize effectiveness.
- Ensures employees perform work safely and that equipment is
maintained, and processes are carried out in compliance with
Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures.
- Continually evolve manufacturing efficiency and assess
opportunities to reduce cost, taking aggressive action to drive
financial performance in the areas of direct and indirect labor,
and manufacturing overhead cost, as well as inventory levels.
- Stay up to date with the latest production management best
practices and concepts.
- Recommends budgets to management.
- Other duties as assigned.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Management,
Operations Management or related field
- 10 years of progressively responsible manufacturing leadership
experience in fast paced, complex manufacturing environment
- Experience with fine powder processes, including ball mill
operations, pneumatic and mechanical material handling
equipment
- Experience with cement or lime
- Experience in metric driven operations focused on cost,
quality, delivery, and safety metrics and improvementsKNOWLEDGE,
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of applicable manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of MSHA Compliance
- Knowledge of proper grammar and spelling
- General knowledge of accounting and clerical procedures and
practices
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs for various
projects
- Good communication skills in English
- Adaptability and flexibility
- Creativity and innovation
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks to ensure a timely
