If you're interested in working on the forefront of robotics with a creative team of great people, come join us! Mechanical Technician Mechanical Technicians are vital to the success of our business. As a technician you typically begin by building sub-assemblies of fabricated parts and equipment working from BOMs, solid models, fabrication drawings, and work instructions using standard hand and power tools and then integrating the subassemblies into larger mechanical systems. At each step, Mechanical Technicians must test and calibrate completed units to ensure parts and mechanisms meet specifications. Successful candidates will work closely with engineers and designers and install, repair, and maintain laboratory tooling and equipment. Role/Responsibilities: Align, fit, and assemble mechanical component parts with hardware into subassemblies using power, hand tools, torque wrenches, fixtures and templates Read work instructions and follow procedures to consistently build production assemblies within the tolerances required Repair, rework, and calibrate mechanical assemblies and systems to meet operational specifications and tolerances Order parts and check paperwork on receipt of parts Assist with other duties as assigned Ability to provide accurate estimates for fabrication and testing activities

Competencies: Prior experience with intricate mechanical products Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Ability to multitask and prioritize Strong analytical and interpersonal skills Able to work independently, with minimal supervision Innately possesses accountability, fearless risk-taking, and measurable achievement Persuasive oral/written communication abilities Flexible and adaptable (willing to work on other technical problems as needed) Insatiable curiosity for science, technology and understanding of how things work Able to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair Electro-Mechanical systems Demonstrated leadership managing a project from start to finish Advanced knowledge in operation of standard machine shop equipment (manual lathe/mill, grinders) Qualifications: 3 plus years complex mechatronic assembly experience such as transmissions Basic operation of standard machine shop equipment (manual lathe/mill, grinders) Ability to read and follow work instructions Experience with SolidWorks is a plus Hydraulics experience a plus Completion of a two (2) year technology or four (4) year apprentice program - preferred Strong operational knowledge of standard machine shop equipment (manual lathe/mill, grinders) - preferred Assemble complex electro-mechanical assemblies without work instructions or oversight using SolidWorks, power, hand tools, torque wrenches, fixtures and templates Experience measuring components within a +/- .0005" tolerance Work with experienced engineers to transition projects from concept to first article prototypes Create work instructions for new processes for Level I/II Technicians to perform tasks Good understanding of GD&T Experience measuring components within a +/- .0005" tolerance

Work Environment and Physical Demands: Work is performed Monday through Friday (Mountain Time) with ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary. Option for virtual work. Minimal travel ( Safety awareness is absolutely essential at all times while in the work area. Must be able to stand and sit for extended times.
