We all have something to contribute, and it's this contribution that makes for a great organization and fulfilling career.The OpportunityWe are looking for a Shift Maintenance Coordinator - To coordinate maintenance execution activities, lead team for daily maintenance, PM's, secondary maintenance and breakdown tasks for all production equipment at the Smelter. This coordinator position will be responsible for all shift maintenance execution activities in addition lead other special projects/activities and initiatives.What the role entailsThis role is a great opportunity to lead a maintenance team of craftsman and contractors in the safe execution of quality work ensuring that work management process is effectively followed. The core role responsibility is managing the safe execution of quality work, adhering work management practices, to coordinate plant wide maintenance activities in alignment with production targets. This role Reports to the AM Manager Hot Metals.Core Skills and Competency required:
  • Manage the safety performance of the Team.
  • Lead and direct maintenance activities in alignment with the value stream and plant production goals while maintaining the assets to ensure effective utilization, availability and health.
  • Excellent communications skills required. CMMS documentation accuracy.
  • Initiate and implement change with commitment and drive performance.
  • Take responsibility and accountability for own behavior, performance and development.
  • Motivate and develop people to deliver superior results.
  • Align behaviors, decisions and actions with values and principles in Rio Tinto guidelinesWhat you will need for this roleTo succeed in this role, you will have:
    
    • Candidates must demonstrate a safety conscious approach to work, a proven ability to operate independently and in small multi-discipline teams, and strong interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; a participative management style in problem solving, project implementation, and continuous improvement, and strong analytical and computer skills are important.
    • Must become proficient in SAP and CMMS.
    • Understand and effectively communicate the importance of accurate and timely work completion.
    • Have the energy, commitment, interpersonal and technical skills to optimize work-execution by proper utilization of resources in an environment of teamwork and cooperation.
    • Incumbent must be able to work with and utilize support, particularly from the maintenance and operations team leaders in the context of maintenance performance improvement. It will also be beneficial if you have:
      • B.S. Degree in Engineering or related field and minimum 5 years related experience or an MS degree
