Job Summary
The Planner / Scheduler collects and analyzes information used to plan and schedule construction projects (vertical builds). - Our projects are designing and building food and beverage process facilities (industrial / MEP projects). - The scheduler generates forecasts, variance reports, and other documentations used to monitor and manage projects. - The Planner / Scheduler research and reports on economic, legal, and other factors that may impact project success. - The role Evaluates current procedures and recommends changes to improve the efficiency of planning and scheduling of projects and the reduction of issues due to scheduling errors. - Additionally, the Planner / Scheduler understands and utilizes standard planning and scheduling methodologies and tools. - The Planner / Scheduler prepares plans and schedules for small and routine projects up to large complex projects. - The role is involved from the preconstruction and bid proposal stage of a project and throughout the construction to the punch list stage. - Typical responsibilities -include but not limited to: -Responsibilities

  • Develop schedules for bid proposals.
  • Develop schedules during pre-construction phase (pre-construction packages).
  • Bring scheduling expertise, checks & balances to the project leadership teams (Project Managers, Construction Managers, engineers). -
  • Provide company standardization in planning and scheduling practices, involving providing training to project leadership team.
  • Provide scheduling support / expertise on large and small projects.
  • Other tasks as assigned
    • Works autonomously on overseeing multiple small projects to medium, complexed-sized projects
      • Work with stakeholders in scheduler equipment installation and commissioning
      • Work with different engineering disciplines and construction manager for coordination of field engineering
      • Researching -project scheduling best practices
      • This role is client facing and you will need to work collaboratively with owners, subs, building officials, project and construction management teams, and our A/E team. - -
      • Gathers project progress information from project manager and project team members to update and monitor the project
      • Maintains and updates scope within work breakdown structure; reports on unbudgeted activities
      • Develops monthly progress report deliverables to encompass schedule updates, schedule performance/milestone reports, and performance curves
      • Prepares miscellaneous proposal schedules, as required
      • Demonstrates exceptional knowledge of project goals, drivers, strategies, risks and opportunities as well as an understanding construction practices
      • Possesses strong teamwork and collaboration skills and an ability to work well in fast paced environments requiring daily shifting of priorities
      • Jobsite walk / audits to ensure project is progressing and sub-contractors are following plans per the schedule
        • Work with sub-contractors to ensure schedule compliance and determine alternatives resources or options
        • Revise production schedules and collaborate with department managers when required due to order or process changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions
          • Promoting continuous -and productive communication between project participants -including internal and external clients and partners
          • Participates in strategic planning and resource management to ensure maximum utilization of personnel and material resources in order to meet production and business objectives.
            • Supporting talent growth within our organization -
            • Assists with interviewing and hiring new team members
            • Provide coaching and/or mentoring to a subordinate group when directed by supervisor. -
            • Handle complex issues and tasks with minimal supervision and advise subordinate team members on solutions to issues they encounter.Required Education Skills and Experience
              • Bachelor's degree in construction Management, Construction Science, Construction Engineering, or similar.
              • 8+ years of planning and scheduling for industrial or commercial construction projects (vertical builds) experience.
              • 8+ years of MS Excel experience.
              • 8+ years of MS Project experience.
              • 5+ years of planning and scheduling projects involving multiple engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, plumbing, civil, structures, etc.).
              • Ability to interface and effectively communicate with project leadership.
              • Proven ability to schedule / plan for multiple projects simultaneously is a must.
              • Food & Beverage construction experience is a strong plus.
              • Must be willing to meeting travel requirement of 25% - 30%.
              • Must be willing to meeting travel requirement of 25% - 30%.Physical Requirements
                • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer and when visiting project sites, prolonged periods of standing and walking around project site with uneven surfaces.
                • Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers.
                • Must be able to lift-up to 15 pounds at times.Travel Requirement:
