Electrical/Mechanical Field Engineer
Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Duration: Contract-to-direct hire, long-term
Pay Range: $40/hr - $50/hr DOE
50% field site work/walk downs at client facilities (UT, CA, NV,
ID, WY) & other work in the office or remote (hybrid schedule).
Job Responsibilities:
Well established Engineering firm is seeking a highly motivated
Field Engineer with mechanical engineering equipment experience.
Exposure/experience with Electrical & Instrumentation. -
Provide electro-mechanical engineering support (power distribution,
power transmission, instrumentation, and equipment controls) for
Mining and Oil & Gas facilities. Focus on designing and improving
electrical power and control systems for the client plan and
specify equipment specific to the mining and oil & gas
industry.
Engineering, designing and technical work to support small to large
heavy industrial projects.
This includes researching, developing, and supporting the designs
of a variety of E&I/Mechanical equipment, facilities,
components, and systems for industrial purposes.
Ensure that the technical content of all engineering and design
deliverables meet quality expectations.
Develop proposals and project scopes, work-hour estimates,
scheduling, and coordination in collaboration with management for
resources.
Job Requirements:
BS in Engineering or other technical training or equivalent work
experience.
2-4+ years of experience working in heavy industrial environments
and doing field site walk downs. -
This position does require field verifications in heavy industrial
facilities.
Technical knowledge of Power Distribution, Electrical Rooms, MCCs,
VFDs, Generation, Transmission, and heavy industrial power systems
from low to high voltage.
Technical knowledge Instrumentation & Controls based on automatic
process control system like PLC and DCS.
Ability to establish the computer-based instrument list and I/O
schematics.
Experience with P&IDs, PFDs, and specifying EI&C equipment
required.
Experience with pipelines, ball/gate valves, pneumatic & electric
actuators. -
Proficiency with MS Office applications are required.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and driven to
develop strong client relationship is required.
Must be comfortable being client facing and maintain effective
communication with project team members and with the customers.
Experience with AutoCAD or other design software is a plus. .
Experience with MSHA/OSHA safety regulations preferred.
Experience with business development and commercial proposal
writing is a plus.
Pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up experience is
preferred.
