The Senior Program Analyst will be accountable for the success and execution of assigned/delegated tasks to support global clinical trial operations in the management of the internal Medical Expense Reimbursement (MER) program. Services may include, but are not limited to, requests from research sites/subjects for reimbursement of medical costs to diagnose or treat adverse events/serious adverse events (AE/SAE's), in alignment with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory/Health Care Compliance (HCC)/legal requirements.
Principal Responsibilities:



  • Support the review and compliant resolution of MER requests globally in accordance with the MER SOP.


  • Review and summarize supporting documents for medical expense reimbursement requests submitted by study team/Contract Research Organization (CRO).


  • Arrange for payment of approved medical costs through designated account, study budget or clinical trial insurance.


  • Act as point of contact for questions regarding medical expense reimbursement.


  • Support and provide training and awareness sessions to clarify/explain requirements for all MER activities to internal and external partners and stakeholders.


  • Proactively improve MER processes and establishes refinements that reduce cycle time, create savings, develop optimal site/investigator/patient relationships and improve efficiency.


  • Maintain and track data to enable metrics and financial reporting related to subject injury treatment costs and reimbursement upon request.


  • Assist in the gathering and maintenance of intelligence information related to MER function.


  • Identify data trends, potential areas for improvement, and issues in the data/metrics.


  • Summarize and communicate data for management.


  • Ensure that services rendered will adhere to applicable Johnson & Johnson SOPs, Work Instructions (WIs), policies, local regulatory requirements, International Council for Harmonization (ICH)-Good Clinical Practices (GCP), etc.


  • Ensure inspection ready by complying with relevant training requirements and developing therapeutic knowledge for service delivery.


  • Ensure full utilization by timely and accurate time reporting (BEACON).


  • Other deliverables related to program support may be assigned.


    Qualifications


    • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required.


    • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, Med Tech or Consumer industries or a Contract Research Organization (CRO) is required.


    • Clinical research experience is preferred.


    • Prior experience with legal or contractual language or healthcare reimbursement is preferred.


    • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.


    • Must have strong analytical skills.


    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and accomplish a large volume of work.


    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required.


    • The ability to review complex information and prepare summary and recommendation is highly preferred.


    • The ability work effectively in cross-functional teams and to participate on global teams in a virtual environment is required.


    • This position will require minimal travel.


      The anticipated base pay range for this position in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA is $96,900 to $156,055.
      The anticipated base pay range for this position in all other US locations is $84,000 to $135,700.
      The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
      Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance.
      Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
      Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

      • Vacation - up to 120 hours per calendar year



        • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington - up to 56 hours per calendar year


        • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays - up to 13 days per calendar year


        • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
