T HE ROLE : The Environmental Project s Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and executing the sales plan performance of the YSI Integrated Systems & Services (ISS) division and providing technical leadership for project evaluations and solution designs. The YSI Integrated Systems & Services division specializes in the design and installation of best-in-class deployment solutions such as ocean data buoys and land based natural resource data collection systems. These solutions utilize Xylem's global water quality instrument brands along with industry leading telemetry, solar power and other engineered solutions. The position would routinely require the individual to solve customer based environmental monitoring and data collection challenges for a variety of research, compliance, modeling, assessment and event notification-based projects. This role will also be responsible for driving growth of the YSI ISS business through the management of the ISS Sales Specialists, and channel partners along with coordination between the Regional Managers and department leads.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES : To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.



  • Develops a business plan and sales strategy that ensures attainment of sales goals.


  • Maintain communication with supervisor, marketing, support,and other inter-company personnel to achieve sales quota andmeet goals and objectives set for the business.


  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, and retaining top talent.


  • Responsible for the performance and development of direct and distribution sales channels.


  • Provide supervision and leadership for sales team in the evaluation of customer project requirements, establishing the solution scope, estimating costs, and producing the final proposal and pricing.


  • Travel to potential project locations to consult with customers, assess site conditions, and sell proposals.


  • Maintains a high level of product knowledge of both the company's and competitive products.


  • Provides to management a sales forecastand business report for the region on a monthly basis.


  • Drive Sales Growth through utilization of the Customer Relationship Management software (currently SalesForce).


  • Provides feedback to marketing, product managers and general management on market intelligence, competitoractivity and application opportunities.


  • Work closely with product management to identify opportunity for new product development to meet local market demands.


  • This position will collaborate with General Management, Marketing, Engineering, Field Services, and Customer Service to drive growth and performance of the YSI Integrated Systems & Services business.


  • Identifies and attend conferences relevant to the YSI Integrated Systems & Services markets.


  • Collaborate across Xylem Analytics divisions to provide services and solutions.


  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and company's code of conduct and ensures that where appropriate company policies are communicated to selling partners.


  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be required based on organization needs.


    QUALIFICATIONS :
    --- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with multiple years of sales and/or consulting experience in the Environmental Outdoor Monitoring market.
    --- Multiple years' experience managing sales teams and channels, preferably within the analytical instrumentation or Environmental engineering/consulting market.
    --- Relationships within and product/application knowledge of instrumentation related to outdoor water quality and/or quantity monitoring.
    --- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    --- Solid interpersonal, organizational, and managerial skills.
    --- Sound understanding of business principles including contract negotiation, sales planning, market development, sales channel management, and business modeling.
    --- Familiarity with the market, key accounts, competitors, and legislation impacting sales of company product.
    DAY IN THE LIFE :
    In this role, the working environment is from a remote office with occasional work outdoors, including on or near the water with the possibilities of weather extremities and the use of PPE and the physical demands may include but not limited to regularly sitting, standing, lifting up to 20 lbs. In addition, this role may have 50% overnight travel by car and plane, as required to support sales channels, achieve sales quota, and to meet goals and objectives set for the sales team.
    SALARY :
    The estimated salary range for this position is $95k to $135k plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
